My name is Jennifer Ames, and I am President of Jennifer Ames Chicago, a top-selling
residential real estate agent, a 5th generation Chicagoan and a mother of three boys. My
family has been an integral part of this city for more than 150 years, and suffice it to say,
a passion for living and raising a family in the city is in my blood.
I attribute my professional success, in part, to the fact that I sell more than real estate - I
consider myself an ambassador promoting all that Chicago has to offer. When I drive
buyers around the neighborhoods, I am as likely to point out my favorite restaurants,
museums, and birthday party venues as I am to talk about housing inventory.
This magazine is not your typical real estate fare. It is an extension of
LiveandPlayinChicago.com, a Chicago real estate and lifestyle blog that I founded
in the summer of 2008. While the magazine is designed to showcase the many
homes that my team and I have the privilege to represent, it is also quite personal,
including introductions to restaurants, parks, amenities, and other trivia that you
may enjoy. In addition, we interviewed a developer, a landscape architect, and an
insurance broker, as well as included tried and true tips on how to prepare your
home for sale, and our thoughts about buying a resort home. Finally, I invite you to
meet my extraordinary team profiled in the back of the magazine.
Chicago is one of the world’s great cities. There’s something here for everyone. I hope
with this magazine you will gain insight into Chicago’s real estate market, and find opportunities to make the most of living, playing, and raising a family in the Windy City.
